Try dive

We do all training from non-diver through to advanced diver, including instructor training.

To start with you can do a try dive to see if you like being under water using the breathing apparatus. This consists of some theory training followed by approximately half an hour in the pool. We charge £10 for this, but if you join the club we take it off your first year's membership fee.

When you join the club the first training course is Ocean Diver, which consists of:
Seven classroom lessons
Theory assessment
Basic swimming assessment
Five sheltered water lessons
Five open water lessons

Open water assessment will take place at an inland site or in a sheltered bay on the coast.

When you have qualified as Ocean Diver your next step will be Sports Diver:
Six classroom lessons
Theory assessment
Dry practical lesson
A sheltered water lesson
An optional refresher/orientation dive
Five open water lessons

This is a world wide recognised qualification, once you are a Ocean Diver we help you to gain more experience then progress with the next qualifications which are Sports Diver, Dive Leader, and eventually Advanced Diver.

You pay yearly membership fees not for each qualification. We also run Skill Development courses, which do have to be paid for separately. We run them as cheaply as possible and they are more directed at advanced diver level.
